Artists Judy Prichard
Most of Judy’s work is produced with a self-formulated terra cotta stoneware clay, both functional and decorative works. We create all of our own glazes. Most are fired to cone 5, electric. Artist Statement I create each piece for the recipient. As I produce a piece, I strive to know the person who will receive it. I hope they will know when they hold the piece they choose to buy or receive as a gift, it was made just for them. Oak Grove Pottery
Most of Judy’s work is produced as terra cotta functional pottery for use in your home. She also enjoys creating one-off decorative pieces and sawdust fired pots. She has a great love of reproducing baskets in clay, basket designs in functional pieces, leaf motifs and large sawdust fired urns. In 1996, after their two children left home, Judy began making pots. This was a major change in lifestyle after several years as a management consultant for small business and not-for profits. Judy spent three years studying ceramics in Sydney, Australia, in addition to her previous schooling in the United States at Indiana/Purdue University Ft. Wayne. She exhibited in several ceramics exhibitions in the Sydney area as well as having photos of her work published in an Australia wide ceramics magazine.
